I am quite confused regarding the explanations needed for q1b. What kind of explanation do you expect us to write for, say, the part asking us about the bandwidth for A? I just used the built in bandwidth function for this.
Similarly, for the relation between diagonal/top/vertical forces and n, am I supposed to define a function or something? Or just explain how it varies over time.

For the bandwidth, first give what they are in terms of n,
then give some explanation by studying the matrix equations.
The bandwidth is max distance from diagonal to below (or above) diagonal. The numbering of the components of the unknown in each equation should guide you. Can’t say much more without answering the question of the assignment.
For the relation between diagonal/top/vertical forces and n,
just describe the variation, in all details you can notice.
A strict function is not needed, but when you notice a variation in a certain trend with n, you can include that comment.
